dB Pulse support

Find answers to common app questions. If something still fails, email hello@livedecibelmeter.com with your iPhone model, iOS version, app version and the steps that led to the issue.

Why does dB Pulse request microphone access?

The meter needs microphone input to estimate ambient sound. In iPhone Settings, open dB Pulse and enable Microphone if you previously declined it. Keep the app open and in the foreground while checking a room.

Does dB Pulse keep measuring when the screen locks?

No. The meter stops when the app leaves the foreground. A Live Activity or widget may show a previously captured reading, but it does not mean the microphone is still measuring.

Why do two phones show different readings?

Microphones, cases, placement and processing differ. For a better comparison, remove obstructions, use the same position and calibrate beside a trusted sound level meter with matching weighting and response.

How do I calibrate?

Open Settings in the app and use Microphone Calibration. Compare a steady reference sound with a trusted meter at the same position, then set the offset. A tone played by another phone is not a calibrated sound-pressure reference.

How do I export a session?

Open Sessions, choose the session, and use its share or export action. Free export has limits; Pro adds longer history and detailed PDF/CSV options. The share sheet lets you choose where the file goes.

How do I restore Pro?

In the app, open Settings and tap Restore Purchases. Use the Apple Account that made the purchase. If it still does not unlock, send the purchase date and app version to support.

How do I cancel a subscription?

Apple manages subscriptions. Open iPhone Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions and choose dB Pulse. Removing the app does not cancel the plan.

Where are evidence clips stored?

Pro evidence clips are opt-in and captured only while an active session is recording. They stay attached to that session on your device unless you share them; deleting the session deletes its clips.
